Rebekah Thompson is a cellist from Dayton, Ohio. During her time in Dayton, she taught a private studio and was very active at Wright State University where she attended for two years. She then continued her studies at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in cello performance. As an undergraduate, she won principal cellist of the University Symphony Orchestra and held the position of cellist in the Klinder Graduate String Quartet. She also taught at Athens Community Music School where her students ranged from ages 8-63. Rebekah has performed in various masterclasses, including Keith Lockhart (conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra), and Joel Smirnoff (member of the Juilliard Quartet). Rebekah has since moved to Indianapolis and studies under Dr. William Grubb at Butler University. She graduated from Butler University in May of 2019 with a masters in cello performance and is an active performer and teacher in the Indianapolis area.
